The Church is not to blame for unwanted pregnancies. The Church has always taught against contraception. Unwanted pregnancies increased dramatically since, not before the popularisation of contraception, which went hand in hand with the popularisation of promiscurity.
The sin of contraception and abortion are sins engaged to try to cover up the sin of promiscurity. Just like the guy who swallowed the spider to catch the fly etc..... He's dead of course. And that's where sin leads.
So don't blame the Church which is, as always, rightfully calling you away from sin that leads to death.
I am Catholic, by the Grace of God. The Catholic Church is the Church Jesus started. Its teachings are truth. Some Catholics, even some Bishops and Priests don't always live up to that truth. However that doesn't mean that the truth is wrong.

Oppression
Everyone who supported slavery was free.
Everyone who supports abortion was born.
This is how oppression works.

Where is your life at?
There are many stages in life. The first 9 months is just the first stage. The person is no less human in this stage than he/she is in any other stage in life.
Is a 5 year old less human than an adult just because he/she is less developed than an adult?
What's so different about a baby still in the womb?
All that is added after conception is nutrition. Nutrition alone can't create a new life. From the moment of conception there is already a new human life in the world.
When human life begins is not a theory, it is a scientific fact!

Is someone making your life difficult?
Some people say that a woman has a right to kill her unborn baby if she will find it too much of a hardship to raise the baby.
What if you and I were in a situation where your existance was making my life too difficult. Would I have the right to kill you to make my life easier? How is this situation any different.
After all we have both done wrong things in our life and probably deserve to suffer, unlike an unborn baby who is totally guiltless.
There is no situation in life where a civilised person can justly take the life of an innocent person. No matter what the problem is, the solution can NEVER be to take the life of an innocent person.

Protect the Vunerable
If there is just one place in the world that the innocent should be protected, surely it is in the womb.
No where else in the world is innocence more under attack than in the womb. People have been blinded into thinking that because the baby is not yet born, that the baby has less right to keep living.
Just because the baby doesn't know what life is or have any experience of life outside the womb, doesn't mean that the baby has less right to life. What you don't know doesn't reduce your right to stay alive. If it did, we would be justified in killing school dropouts and I don't believe any civilised person would advocate that.

In the World
I sometimes hear people say the expression, "......shouldn't bring a baby into the world."
It is always said in reference to an existing pregnancy. But the baby is already in the world. Where do you think the woman's womb is? On Venus?

Prayer is Powerful
This has been demonstrated time and time again throught history. I join others outside abortion clinics, not to protest, hassel or insult anybody. We only pray for and end to abortion and for forgiveness for everyone. We don't claim to be perfect or more holy than anyone else. We don't judge anyone.
